Bird Houses in Winter | Rikka Amahoshi, 2021

I know this scene is filled with snow and is supposed to be cold, but I can't help but feel warm and joyful looking at it. It might not be a true summer's day, but it has sunny summer energy.

The colorful birdhouses against the white snow remind us of the light that exists in dark times and on sad days. I want to live in that house and be best friends with that smiley snowman. Rikka Amahoshi has a way of creating spaces that I desperately want to visit or live in. They are like ideal worlds.
