I discovered this piece and this artist back in November while on a morning stroll in Downtown Birmingham. I had been out and about for another installation of Nan's Vintage pop-up shop. After buying an equestrian themed jean jacket as a means of manifesting some SMU football wins and stopping for a ham and cheese croissant from last call baking and waiting in a seemingly endless line at June for a coffee that is slightly too sophisticated for my palette, I decided to finally check out the Canary Gallery. I have had my eye on this gallery for months, but for some reason just never find myself in the area during open hours and had yet to bring myself to take the treacherous journey downtown just for the sake of stopping by a gallery.
So, on one November morning, I finally walked in. And here was this lovely work hanging right there in the front room. It immediately caught my attention, and I walked up to take note of the artist, Richie Gudzan. I am adding this to the wish list as we speak.
