Dare I say, a near-perfect patio. Great furniture, even better views, some snacks and wine on the table—what else do you need?
I’ve been really into paper collages, and how defined everything is when there is just cut paper building a scene. Blending can be beautiful, but there is something so eye-catching about colors being so separate yet still working together to build something special. I love looking at this piece, and seeing how the artist uses the same color paper in various parts of the scene. The pink-purple shade that is used to create the cushions on the sofa is shared by the trunk of a tree. Some red paper is found throughout the collage to color a chair, add depth to the big tree, be a pot for a growing plant, and serve as roofs for some cabins and a home in the background. It is incredibly interesting to look around the scene and see the same color be used to add an element of light to one area, shade another, and be the single base color somewhere else.
Paper collages might need to be my new artistic hyper fixation.
