I'm not typically inspired by realistic works (frequently impressed, rarely moved), but this one spoke to me. There is an essence about this that is incredibly grounded yet freeing.
While the purple-blue sky takes up most of the piece, it does not command the scene but rather compliments the tones and elements of the field and farm buildings. The buildings have a feeling of reassurance. The buildings are old and weathered while still appearing strong and indestructible as they stand open and exposed to the surrounding world. The buildings feel like they are just as much part of the landscape as the grass and the trees. A beautiful piece that I grow to love more and more each time I look at it.
I would love to sit in this field. I think the absence of manufactured noise and the stars in a clear rural sky could cure me.
