London Bridge | Jean Dufy 1950
London Bridge | Jean Dufy 1950

There has been many great brothers throughout history. The Efron brothers (I am watching Traitors Season 3 as we speak). The Wright brothers. The Kelce brothers. The Jonas brothers. The Hemsworth brothers. I hope you get the picture. Now let's get a round of applause for the Dufy brothers, Jean and Raoul and their beautiful works of art.

This piece by Jean Dufy is particularly lovely with all its color and attention to detail. I appreciate the bright colors paired with striking yet unrefined black line work. The style allows a scene to be easily established while remaining light-hearted. The painting feels loud and colorful, but executes this feeling and look with a relatively tight color palette which makes it incredibly palette-able to even the most uninspired realist. Not to mention I'm sure the touches of brown in the river are incredibly accurate. And who doesn't love a yellow sky.. So happy.. So fun!
