Route 66, Albuquerque, NM | Ernst Haas, 1969
Route 66, Albuquerque, NM | Ernst Haas, 1969

Growing up and hearing the lore of Route 66, I was convinced that Route 66 was a direct path to all your dreams coming true. I would sooner take trip down this highway than go through the closet of Narnia (the rock from Dragon Tales is one of few things that could trump Route 66 in my childhood mind).

Even looking at this print, the road appears like as an endless stream of hope and possibility. Each car is being guided by seemingly never-ending lights and energy as they move closer to their goals and aspirations. The print illustrates the scene with such deep rich colors and the signs along the road are in impressive detail. It's like my childhood dream came true and I finally made it to Route 66 myself.
