Golfbana Med Molla | Peter Mohall, 2025
Golfbana Med Molla | Peter Mohall, 2025

No need to leave this page. I translated the title and it is indeed the name of a Swedish Golf Course. As expected: Golfbana = Golf Course.

I love Mohall’s inclusion of the artwork’s color palette in the artwork itself. On one hand, it is interesting to see just how many shades of green are used to properly illustrate a golf course and the subtly different shades of red, but it is equally impressive that he managed to create these detailed pieces and convincing scenes without blending. There appears to be some underpainting that allows the entire work to blend in a sense and come together, but the scene is ultimately depicted with just 17 distinct colors. There is element of pointillism that serves to help many colors blend together especially in the sky and the trees.

He has a very interesting approach to painting, and the inclusion of the color palette gives a sort of peak behind the curtain into how the painting was created. It helps the viewer to have some insight into the process. It also is eye-opening to see the paint in its most basic form just in lines on the canvas compared to the paint strategically and artistically being used to create an art piece.
