Healing Heart: Daisies & Hydrangea | Tiffany Budzisz, 2024

I wanted to bring in the month of February with something Valentine's Day related. And I chose this anatomical heart filled with flowers. The artistry of cut paper is incredibly impressive to me, and it is now appreciated nearly enough. Paper art at this level of detail and precision requires a creative mind, a certain amount of physical capabilities, and a calm temperament. I truly believe you must have some sort of internal peace to achieve something this perfect.

I could sit here and tell you a story of how this piece of art reminds that we are one with the earth and we will all die and become plant food or that I look at this piece and see a metaphor for growing from within. I'm sure this work has incredible intention about personal growth and loving yourself, and it easily succeeds in portraying those themes, but I keep coming back to the feeling of peace that must come with creating something of this nature. That kind of peace would certainly fill my heart.
