Bakery Case | Wayne Thiebaud, 2018

Simple, well-done, class. Art doesn’t have to be this high concept thing that requires mental cartwheels to appreciate. This could easily have a profound deeper meaning that solves world peace or something, but it also serves a successful, realistic interpretation of a bakery case.

The thing that jumps out at me in this artwork it the subtle use of bright yellow lines in outlining and defining certain aspects. It adds a brightness as well as a playfulness throughout.
