Shopping for A: Brown Jacket

This week I have been on the hunt for a brown oversized jacket. I have a super fun oversized black leather jacket that I love to reach for on nights out, and I think a similar brown one would be equally useful in my wardrobe.

This journey started with a cutey little set from Zara that I ordered. I have yet to try this ensemble on, but assuming it’s a cute fit (risky as it involves shorts) I am picturing some brown flat boots with some sort of buckle and an oversized brown jacket. Despite the fact that I have several heeled brown boots and acceptable jackets, I have decided that I need some flat brown boots for this particular outfit and a whole new jacket. While I’m giving myself space for the need for a 3rd tall brown boot to pass, I have gone full speed ahead on this jacket search.

My mind immediately went towards a brown leather jacket that is virtually the exact same as the black one I love, but I also feel like I might need some style and silhouette variety in my closet. I’m trying to branch out in this jacket search while still finding something classic that will eventually have a low price per wear.

Qualities I want in my brown jacket:

1. Dark brown 

2. Doesn’t need to be oversized, but definitely not form fitting

3. Zips up, but at least closes in some capacity

4. Hits at my hips or longer

5. Leather, but I can be swayed

6. Makes people go “OMG, I love her jacket”
